En god del av filmene vi skal vise i neste uke har allerede gjort en liten runde på festivaler rundt omkring. Vi føler jo at de er litt «våre» og derfor er det ekstra gøy når vi ser at de drar med seg priser fra andre festivaler verden rundt!
Akkurat nå kom det en pressemelding fra Sean Branney i THe H.P Lovecraft Historical Society:
The Whisperer In Darkness, is the big winner of the Fourth Film Festival of Horror and Fantastic from Santiago,
The amazing adaptation of the classic story of H. P. Lovecraft, was the big winner at obtain the prizes for best motion picture, best director (Sean Branney) and best actor Matt Foyer. While, “Toque de Queda” (“Curfew”), the Guatemalan film about suspicious neighbors and zombies, obtain the prize to best screenplay (Ray Figueroa) and best actress to Brenda Lara Markins.
Lucio Rojas & Cristian Toledo, the directors of the chilean movie “Muerte Ciega” (“Zombie Dawn”), obtain the New Blood prize like best debutante directors in full-length category, also the film obtain a special mention by art direction.
In shortfilm section, “Camino Al Cementerio” (“Road To Cementery”) by Mijael Milies obtain the prize for best chilean shortfilm, “The Ogre” the brazilian animation obtain the prize to the best latin american shortfilm and “Wilt”, from Germany, obtain the prize to best international shortfilm and their director Daniel Vogelmann received the New Blood prize like best debutante director in shortfilm category.
With a great number of audience, also of titles and days, the Fourth Film Festival of Horror and Fantastic from Santiago, FIXION-SARS, was developed between October 11th and 19th in Cinemark Plaza Vespucio and Cineteca Nacional (Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda).

Because it’s a wonderful production, full of mystery, emotion and nostalgia, which, together with the superb direction, can transport us into an cinematographic era where the same Lovecraft would have approved.
